Portland-region cooling facilities open up 24 hours a day through warmth wave

Amid scorching temperature predictions for the weekend, officials declared Thursday morning that Portland-area cooling centers will be open up 24 hrs a working day, not near at 9 p.m. as initially prepared.

The 3 facilities will open their doors at 1 p.m. Friday and keep on being obtainable by way of Monday at the Oregon Convention Heart, 777 Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard the Dawn Middle, 18901 East Burnside Street and a county-owned shelter in a former Ceremony Aid in the Arbor Lodge community, 1952 North Lombard Avenue.
